China Glaze's Deviantly Daring

Is this thing on?

So, first post in a new blog! How fun!....Or terrifying. Either way, here we are ^.^  On to the polish, eh?

What better way to start off a blog about polish than with what is currently on my nails?

Cleanup is still an art I'm learning so bare with me, I'm trying ^^;

China Glaze's Deviantly Daring is a shiny blue-to-aquatic green duochrome from their Fall 2012 Bohemian Luster collection. 'Peacock' is a word that comes to mind when trying to describe the color - More so when it's in the bottle as there are traces of yellow that sadly don't translate onto the nail.
Application was fairly easy, though slightly brush-streaky and somewhat on the sheer side but it built up easily. Above is two medium consistency coats, though three thin coats would be better, or even two over a black creme.

It's a lovely color that continually nags at you to look at it, shifting from a light to dark to greenish blue depending upon light and angle. It was one of those colors that I had seen on polish blogs across the net and fell in love with at first sight. Unfortunately I'm still getting the hang of photographing polish, so sadly my pictures don't do this color justice. I was impressed enough with the color that a day after applying it I decided to track down another color from the Bohemian Luster collection  -  But that's a polish for another post ~.^

Overall it's a varnish I'd happily recommend to anyone who likes blues, shimmer and colors that shift.

Topcoat: INM Out The Door

Well I think that went better than expected. Nothing's blown up...Yet.
Next time more varied pictures. I'll get the hang of this yet.....I'm sure?

  1. This is your first post! Congratulations on the new blog! :) I noticed you said this is from the Bohemian Luster collex, but here in the US it was called (unless I'm mistaken!) The New Bohemian collection, where are you from? This is probably my favorite color out of this collection. It's not necessarily the most duo-chromey of the bunch, but I really love the color. Duochromes are so hard to photograph!! I feel ya on that! :)

    1. Hi there! And thank you so much! ^.^' I have to admit the first post was terrifying to write - I'm always scared of making a horse's rear-end of myself by getting something wrong. It's fun though xD

      I'm from the good ol' US-Of-A myself, actually. I believe I got the "Bohemian Luster" term from a picture I had seen of the display for the collection. I'm miles away from a Sally's so I ordered my bottles from Amazon ^^' Perhaps the display was from Europe? And "Luster" is such a pretty word...

      I was tempted to use Photoshop to try and bring out some of the pizzaz in the polish >.< But when I decided I'd open a blog I promised I'd not use Photoshop to enhance colors, so I stuck with cursing at my camera like a loon instead xD

      I gotta admit it took so much self control to not order the entire collection. I'd be afraid for my wallet's life if I went on nail hauls in shops O.O the colors are all so pretty.

    2. Who knows.. maybe I'm wrong about the name! haha It happens! I think your blog is great so far! I only wish my phone would cooperate with blogger blogs cuz that's where I prefer to read and it's so annoying that it just wont let me comment! I hope you continue to like blogging and keep it up! It's pretty fun! :)
